About

The identity of Era Gallery, founded in 2021, is defined by a critical and curatorial approach that fosters a dynamic dialogue between eras, languages, and cultures.

The gallery focuses its activity on art from the first half of the twentieth century, pairing it with research into a new generation of international artists who draw inspiration from these legacies while engaging critically with them. These artists bring diverse perspectives and imaginaries shaped by multiple geographies and cultural contexts.
The gallery’s mission is to encourage intergenerational exchange capable of offering new interpretative frameworks for contemporary culture, enhancing the plurality of artistic narratives and promoting an open dialogue between tradition and experimentation.
Beyond its exhibition program and participation in international art fairs, Era Gallery works closely with artists, heirs, foundations, public institutions, and private collectors, contributing to the research, preservation, and valorization of artworks and their histories.

The gallery inaugurated its first location in Milan, in the Brera district, within a nineteenth-century building originally conceived as a stable. Since 2024, Era Gallery has been based in the Quadrilatero del Silenzio, between  Mozart and Vivaio street   very close to the renowned Villa Necchi Campiglio, in an eighteenth-century building known as the “Casa degli Artisti ” ("House of Artists"). This House, marked by a long and significant artistic vocation, hosted during the twentieth century the studios and ateliers of major figures in art history, including Medardo Rosso and Lucio Fontana. Artists such as René Magritte, Jean Tinguely, and Giorgio de Chirico frequented the House thanks to the historic milanese headquarters of the Greek gallerist and art collector Alexander Iolas, a central figure in the international avant-garde and the Surrealist movement.
